Dinner Making and Daily Life

We have to make our dinners by ourselves, and we have made a lot of good meals, like the very different salads, lasagna, homemade garlic bread and so much more. I love each meal so much! And I have learned so much while I have been cooking, not just how to cook things, but also how to use an oven and all different types of cooking tools like a garlic press and a cheese grater, but most of all, I have learned a lot of new vocabulary, because we have to speak English all the time while we cook. I like cooking, so this has been a really good opportunity for me to learn more cooking skills.

And we not only have to cook, but we also have to do all our own laundry, make our own beds, keep our place clean, and talk out all our disagreements. We have to be very understanding with each other. These are really good life skills as well. This trip is very educational in many ways.

Also, we get to meet very different people, and tonight we got to meet Eric’s middle son, Jonnie and his dog, Skye. It was so great of him to come over and play with us. We really liked him. He was so friendly, and he had so much energy – just like his dad.

Vancouver Harbour Dinner Cruise

That night we went on our last adventure – a Vancouver Harbour Cruise with a buffet dinner. The food was so great. I loved it so much! But, I was sad. This was the end of our journey, and tomorrow I would wake up and have to go to the airport and say good-bye. I can’t believe our time is up. It has gone by so fast. I will miss Canada when I arrive back to Hong Kong!! I love Canada!!! I love Eric and Mimi. I always will! Thank you Canada! Thank you Eric and Mimi!

          I love Canada!!!

Breakfast with the Grizzly bears (Grouse Mountain)

< The Grizzly Bears
It's so great to have breakfast with the Grizzly bears. The bears were so cute, and I loved that so much!! But they didn’t have much space to live and I didn’t like that. But the breakfast was very good. There were lots of choices and it was a buffet breakfast, so we could go back for more. I did! Afterwards, we took a chairlift to the very top of Grouse Mountain, and it was really high, and the views were beautiful. We could see all of English Bay and the University of British Columbia. But what was really neat was that we saw two hang gliders take off and they fly right over us when we were on the chairlift coming down. But there was one thing only I didn't like. It was all the buzzing around me. The buzzing were hoards of flies, flying around us, and I didn't like them at all! They didn’t bite, but they were very annoying. But all in all, I loved having the breakfast with the bears!

Canada Day Celebrations

WOW! Did you know that on Canada Day, they set up parties all over the place for everyone to attend? I wish we did this in Hong Kong.  There was a band playing and lots of people dancing, so we danced too, and watched the fireworks. Canadians are so friendly, and they like to have a lot of fun. It was a really wonderful day.

When we got back from our Hot Springs Tour. The sun was shining brightly. We were all wanted to go shopping again, so Mimi let us have an hour to shop. There were a lot of Canada Day celebrations going on.
Did you know that Canada Day is the same Day as our Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day.  So after shopping and going to some of the Canada Day activities, we returned to our campsite to have some more fun playing on the beach. We wanted to have another campfire dinner, and then we had decided to return to Tofino to take in the celebrations and the fireworks.

The Butchart Gardens and Redlen Technologies

Wow, I was so glad to go to Butchart Gardens today.  Butchart Gardens is full of so many different kinds of beautiful plants. I thought I might like this, but I didn’t. I love nature and I would spent so much time to stay on a grassland, but I didn’t like Butchart Gardens. I liked the rain forest more, so I found it difficult to be interested in all the plants, even though they were beautiful and Butchart Gardens is the second biggest garden in the world.

So, even though, I just wanted to be back in a natural rainforest, I still think it was a good thing to see. I just thought I would like it more than I did.
Redlen Technologies

Eric was so kind to us. He picked us up from Butchart Gardens and took us on a tour of Redlen Technologies. It was very interesting to see a high-tech company. It was also neat to meet the people Eric works with. I found a lot of the technology too high-level to understand what all the sensors do, but I think the work Eric does is very important for medicine and security.

Capilano

We went to Capilano today, and it's really awesome! I loved it very much! The bridge was really long, and it was made of wood. Of course, it was safe for us. I wasn't too scared or nervous when it was shaking. I loved that. I wanted to make it shake more, but they wouldn’t let me. There is so much nature at Capilano. We got to go on a TreeTop Adventure and walk high up in the trees, and we also got to go on a cliff walk. I loved all the nature. It was so beautiful. It was so good to have this experience!!

Britannia Copper Mine Educational Tour

We went on a Britannia Copper Mine Educational Tour today, and it was really educational. We learnt a lot of things there about how copper is mined and how the people lived. We also got the experience of panning for gold. We tried our best to find as many gold nuggets at the Mine’s Gold panning station. I got some gold nuggets too! I am really pleased with myself.
The mine was very interesting, because we got to go inside and learn all about mining. There was also a museum, which had an interesting movie which we watched to learn all about copper mining. But the most impressive thing was the big truck. It was super HUGE, like SUPER SUPER HUGE. Look at the picture if you don’t believe me!

Shopping in Pacific Centre

How many times we went shopping in Canada?? Who knows, because we almost went shopping every day!! But we loved that... The girls always bought a lot of things, but the boys didn't. I only bought souvenirs and an iced coffee in Starbucks every day I could

So if you want to know what things we bought, please read and follow our pages!

Whistler Mountain

After we left the Coppermine, we headed to Whistler. We took a Gondola up the Whistler Mountain. We ate lunch at the top. It was colder high up in the mountains, but it was the greatest thing was that it was so high up. I thought that I might not be able to breathe at the top, but the greatest thing is that I could breathe, and I’m still alive. How great is that! Whistler had a lot of snow at the top even though it is summer time. So, I can only imagine how much snow there is in the winter time.

I had my first snowball fight today. Of course, I was the winner, but Linda did revenge me, and Mimi got me real good as well. I have to admit this because Mimi caught it all on video! I loved being up on Whistler Mountain. It was so unbelievably awesome. The views were stunning and the nature was unbelievable. Just look at all my pictures and videos.

Visiting Ms. Lau

Long time no see, Ms. Lau!! We went to visit Ms. Lau tonight. She is doing okay, and she is still so pretty and lively. We met her son, Jason and daughter, Joyce, and her husband, Jeff.  Jason and Joyce are so cute. I hope I can have children just like them. If so, I will be very blessed! And her husband is very friendly and talkative. All in all, Ms. Lau has a really happy family!! And it was so great to see her again!

Ferry to Vancouver

Bye Bye Victoria and 5055 Cordova Bay Road. Today we travelled to Victoria. We went by ferry and this was really cool, because when we came over it was dark, so we couldn’t see the view, but on our return, we got to see everything.  I love the views most. It was just like we were having another adventure!

Once, we got to the mainland, we went to the Canadian and American border. The amazing thing was is that you couldn’t tell there was a border, except at the border crossing. There is just a normal road which separates the two countries. I was amazed that people didn’t just walk back and forth.

After this we went to find our new home. Everyone was so excited. We loved our new big house! It was really big, but not bigger than Eric's house, but we still liked it. After dinner we went to see someone quite special to us.

So, if you like our trip, please give it a like~ XOXO

Farewell party and Live Show

The first thing we had to do this morning after we got up and had breakfast was pack and clean the house. YUCK! to the packing. I don’t want to leave 5055 Cordova Bay Road, but I really want to go to Vancouver and see and do even more things. I hope I get to come back here one day. After all this was done, we did some skits and recorded them, so that we could use them in some of our videos. Then we had think about what we wanted to say in our live chat with our school. Each of us had to choose an idea and talk about it. Mimi made us tell her our ideas, so she knew what we were going to say.

Then, our farewell party started. I actually wasn’t very excited about it all, because just like packing, it is a reminder that tomorrow we have to leave Victoria, so sad…but a new journey will begin. But, I never want to forget one moment of my time here. It has been wonderful – each minute of it. I will treasure it forever!

The live chat with our school took place right in the middle of our party. We had to wait forever, and our food was getting cold. Luckily Eric was very good at talking to all our guests and keeping them entertained, so they didn’t go home.  But our live show had our who school watching and we were excited to see them, especially since Miss Leung showed us everyone on our screen. We could see our friends, our teacher, the Principal, Miss Yung, Professor Tam – the whole school! I was so impressed. I was very nervous but this was also a good experience! And then afterwards, Miss Leung told us that no one could hear a word we said, so I worried for nothing!

After this, our farewell party really got going and we had such a great time playing and having fun with friends. Danny, Eric’s youngest son, and his girlfriend came with their guitars. They are both great singers, and Danny is an incredible guitar player. I was honoured to play with him. We stayed up quite late, because we were all packed and ready to leave in the morning. I was very thoughtful of Mimi to have us pack and clean in the morning, so we could really enjoy the evening.

Water sports

This morning we got to experience many different types of water sports. Stand-up boarding, kayaking, canoeing and paddling on the Hobie Mirage.  I loved all of these experiences. I loved being on the water. I am so glad that I got to experience these all these water sports. I liked playing water sports, because they give me more energy and make me feel more lively!

And also, I liked doing water sports with Mimi and Eric. They helped me a lot and I love them so much! Living by the sea, gave me a really good chance to do lots of water sports and increase my self-confidence.

Long Beach & Shopping

Once we came back from Bear Watching, we were to go on a hike in the Pacific Rim National Park, but it was still raining and we didn’t really want to get too wet, so Mimi suggested that we drive to Long Beach and have a look at the beach, because it is very famous. It was gorgeous. By the time we got there the rain had stopped and there was only a light mist, a bit of fog, and this huge, huge, huge beach that seemed to go on forever. The water was quite warm and we had such fun playing on the beach and writing in the sand. I loved this beach so much. I am so glad we went there!
We went to Long Beach today, and it’s pretty awesome. I could feel the wind, the sun and the people were really enjoying. Long Beach is really long, so that it called long beach. And I like so much, I think we cannot find a beautiful beach like this in Hong Kong, so I took a lot of photos.

Afterwards, we were hungry and we all wanted to go into the town of Tofino and look around. And Carmen had a bad toothache, so Mimi wanted to help her find some medicine to help with the pain. I loved the shopping.  I bought a lot of things, such as, snacks and souvenirs. But the important thing is that I am in Tofino! It's my first time come to Canada, and I was so happy that I could travel so far to see other places. How excellent this was! I love the snacks here.

They are really unique and we cannot buy them in Hong Kong, so I brought a lots, so I can take some home with me and share them with my family and friends in Hong Kong.
When we got back to our campsite. We played on the beach. It was so much fun. I really felt like I was part of something very special. Then, we made a campfire and had a really nice wiener roast. Everything was so delicious. I love camping food.
