It was my first day in Canada and I went to Costco. Costco is a really big supermarket. There were a lot of things we could buy, such as, foods, shampoo and television.
It's bigger than any Hong Kong's supermarket, and we bought a lot of things, almost 1300.00 Canadian dollars’ worth of food for the following days.
Also, I had my lunch there, I tried a French-Canadian food called poutine, It was really tasty and delicious. I love it so much!!
Let's go to see what will happen on the following days, so please like and follow my pages!!
Well, it
has been really great to experience a professional music recording studio in
Canada. I really enjoyed this activity. Eric's son, Ben was helped me to have a
good recording, and I would like to thank him. He was so nice to us. He even
let us play with his sound board and mix our vocals. That was so cool. I felt
so nervous when I was recording, because it's my first time, but I quite liked
it. I want to be a musician when I grow up, and Ben is a really good example
for me to learn from as he is a great musician and recording artist.
If you like that, or like music, like my page and follow it!! XOXO
Wow...
Today was another really great day. Even though, I have to say that I was so
scared today!! Because today we had to hike to Trestle Bridge in Goldstream
National Park and the hike, or rather climb, was not as easy as Mt Doug. This
time, it was steeper and more difficult, and when we got to the top, we had to
cross the Trestle Bridge. I was so scared that I would fall through, even
though I know it was impossible, it just felt this way to me. Initially, I
needed help, but by the end of crossing the bridge, I could it on my own and I
felt safe. I am so proud of myself for overcoming my fear and this is one of the
reasons why today was a great day – maybe the greatest day!
I wasn’t afraid of
trains while I was on the Trestle Bridge, because it is not a working bridge
anymore. We had a picnic on the bridge, and then we started the hike down, and
it was harder than the climb up! I never expected this. Mimi was very patient
and she stayed with me and she taught me so much about how to climb downhill. I
never realized that technique makes such a big difference. I did what she told
me to do, and it got easier and easier, and I learned how to find the best
routes to climb down. Thank you Mimi for your lessons, patience and believing
in me. I really enjoyed learning how to climb. It has been so good for my
self-confidence.
Well I didn’t realize the drive would be so long – about 6 hours. When we arrived in Tofino it had just stopped raining and the first thing we had to do was set up our campsite. I had never done this before, and to be honest, I wasn’t too sure that I would like camping. But Eric was so good at showing us what to do. He taught us so many great skills.
Now, I think I could set up a campsite on my own and even make it so it will stay dry. Thank you so much Eric. You were so helpful. You made me want to be as helpful. You also made me feel like I was part of a family and that you were my dad, and this made me want to help even more. Thank you for being so kind to me. I love you.
Hi
everyone, I am Steven. Today is June 23, 2018 and it is my 2nd day
in Canada and I am so happy that I went watching whales today!! There were some
different kinds of whales, such as, Killer whales and Gray whales, but I only
saw the Killer Whales. Although, I couldn't touch them, because I wasn’t close
enough and it would be too dangerous, I did have a good chance to see them!!
There are some photos for today's trip:
I also see a colony of sea lions and a number of seabirds, mostly seagulls, a few cormorants, but I did manage to see a rare puffin as well.
If you love that, please give my post a like, and share with your friends. Also, the following days will be very wonderful too, if you want to see more, please follow my page!! Xoxo
Later in the afternoon, I went to the Petting Zoo in Beacon Hill Park, and there were so many cute animals. For example, I saw some chicken, peacocks and goats there. They were pretty lovely, and I know I will never get to see and pet these animals in Hong Kong. Because of this, I loved this place so much!!! I took a lot of photos there, let's have a look at some of them. Enjoy!
Met 3 Japanese people
After we left the petting zoo, we were going to go home, but it was a beautiful place and we wanted to take some photos. So, we went for a walk to look at the flowers, water fountains, and trees. And SURPRISE, we met three Japanese people. They were studying in Canada, and they, not only talked to us, they also gave us some traditional Japanese clothes to try. They were really nice. We even invited some of them to attend our farewell party the next Thursday!
After
this, we headed home to make dinner and have fun playing music and singing downstairs
with Eric. I loved our evenings. Relaxing, playing games, singing and playing
music. Every evening was very special.
Well first I went to Chinatown today and there were so many awesome things to see. It really opened my horizon, because I learned how much impact Chinese people on the building of Victoria and the Canadian National Railway. I also saw some old buildings with Chinese words written on them and that was really cool. Sometimes, I it made me think of the architecture in Hong Kong, because I could see the Chinese influence. We walked down Fan Tan Alley, a very narrow alley. This alley was built by the Chinese and they named it Fan Tan alley, because most of the businesses were Fan Tan gambling dens. I also learned how to play Fan Tan which was very neat, and cool as I have never played a gambling game before. I love this place so much.
Harbour Walking Tour
Victoria Harbour is so friendly and scenic. We watched floatplanes taking off and landing and we talked with some other tourists as well. We also saw a couple of river otters playing with each other. They were so cute. I wanted to reach out and pet them, but they were wild, so it would have been dangerous to try.
As we walked towards the Parliament Building, we saw a big sign that said ‘Canada 150 years’. We wanted to get our picture taken with it. So, we all climbed on it and Mimi took lots of pictures of us.
The Parliament building is in the
background. We did not go on a public tour of the Parliament building because
we were running out of time, AND….yes, we really wanted to go shopping AGAIN!!
So, Mimi agreed that we could head up to the shops and buy some more souvenirs.
